A Multicomponent Temporal Coherence Model for 3-D Phase Unwrapping in Time-Series InSAR of Seasonal Deformation Areas

3-D phase unwrapping (PU) methods based on the 2-D linear temporal coherencemodel have been widely used in time-series interferometric synthetic aperture radar (TS-InSAR) for measuring topography and monitoring subtle deformation. However, can not characterize coherence of highly coherent pixels accurately seasonal deformation areas, where nonlinear is deterministic nonnegligible. Especially, urban areas with groundwater or thermal dilation changes permafrost regions, usually associated periodic temperature changes. In this work, a general multi-component model, which considers multiple components including deformation, proposed PU areas. Moreover, uncertainty evaluation criterion, Cramér–Rao bound (CRB), derived TS-InSAR. The experimental results, obtained by applying model to data set acquired from January 2012 February 2016 over Beijing Capital International Airport area, confirm effectiveness method. High consistency, accurate corrected digital elevation (DEM) information high-density high-coverage PS are achieved. Under same iterations TS-InSAR procedure, enhanced performance illustrated comparing that terms consistency unwrapping, PSCs selection at each step, final results evaluation. summary, number phase-consistency edges after increased about 15%, selected threshold constraint 10%, more provide low residual topography, mean velocity amplitude estimation.
